Elk Hair Caddis - Black

A great pattern for searching water with as a general imitation or fished in small sizes as a representative pattern, this fly has found favour in many different parts of the world as a versatile catcher of fish. It can be used in larger sizes as sighter fly for fishing a small nymph beneath, when often it will be taken itself even though there is no great volume of fly life at the water surface. Our version carries an underwing of CDC which naturally floats the pattern without the need for additional greasing.
